Iris Child-015 Vintage Style Dress

Description

The dress (actually it is long jacket) is made in a pretty black corded lace. It has a fitted bodice and shaped waistline.

The skirt is gathered into the waist seam and is decorated with a black braid.

The upper sleeves are fitted to the elbow and the lower sleeves are full and drape longer to the back. They have been edged with a black lace and braid trim follows the elbow seam.

The whole front of the outfit has black braid decorating the edge and the hem has been finished off with the edge lace.

The front closes at the chest with corset style lacing and satin ribbons.

This outfit is designed to be just about ankle length.

To complete the dress, burgundy (dark red) satin roses have been attached to the sleeves and burgundy satin ribbons used for the lacing.

The dress worn underneath is a simple sleeveless empire waist dress with a full 'A' line skirt and floor length. It is shown here made in a soft white crushed (panne) velvet but this could be made in any colour of your choice.

It would be possible to change the colour of the roses and the ribbon for the front lacing if desired.
