Lantana-012 Steampunk Style Clothing

Description

This was one of the outfits from our collection made for the Steamfae themed article in FAE magazine (www.faemagazine.com) with Hannah Titania.

Shown here is a skirt, blouse, waistcoat and a belt.

The skirt and waistcoat have been made in a rich embroidered taffeta in a pewter grey colour. The skirt has a slight 'V' line shape which sits at the knee height at the front and dips down longer at the back. The hem has been decorated with a pleated ruffled row of taffeta.

Underneath is an attached petticoat made in ivory and cream. The hem has 5 layers of different ruffled laces, chiffon and tulle. The skirt has no waistband and sits smooth across the waist. There is a zip at the centre back waist.

The waistcoat has been made so it can be worn as a waistcoat or as a top by itself. The front neckline comes into a deep 'V' which sits just above the bust. It is a fitted vest and has false pockets on each side at the waist height. The hemline has the traditional pointed finish as would be expected from a waistcoat. The closures are blackened brass snap fasteners.

The back is a real feature, as it has no back! Three belts made in the taffeta with brass clasps at each end keep the waistcoat sitting perfectly with the shape of the body.

The blouse is made in a cream stretch lace and is fully lined. It has a fitted waist section and is slightly gathered under the bust. The centre front from the neck to the bust is open and trimmed with a satin binding. The back mirrors the front but with the centre back being open and had small snap fasteners. The collar sits high under the chin and has been gathered in panels all around the neck. This is a soft collar as it is only made in the lace.

The upper sleeves are a smaller version of the classic leg of mutton type of sleeve, gathered at the sleeve head and at the elbow seam. The lower sleeves are fitted forming long cuffs up the fore arm. There are snap fasteners all along the cuffs.

The yoke style faux leather belt is shown here made in chocolate brown "leather" and closes with snap fasteners at the front or back - as you can wear the belt either way. There are eyelets and ribbon ties on each side so the belt can be adjusted to fit.
